Dividend increase Proctor & Gamble

At the 10th of April the board of Proctor & Gamble decided to increase the quarterly dividend from $ 0,6896 to $ 0,7172 per quarter. This means an increase of $ 0,1104 per share per year which translates to a 4% increase. The dividend is paid on May the 15th 2018 to shareholders of record on April the 20th 2018. This is the 62nd consecutive yearly increase in the dividend.

 

The Pursuit

Since I have 14 shares this increase means that my yearly dividend for Proctor & Gamble is now $ 40,16. Up from $ 38,62 or a $ 1,54 increase in yearly dividends. After taxes I will receive $ 34,14 per year from the company.

This increase means Proctor & Gamble currently yields 3,83% and my yield on cost rises to 3,72%.

 

Conclusion

The dividend increase of Proctor & Gamble is bigger this year than last year. Last year it was 3%, now it is 4%. It seems that the company is on the right track. I like that and I hope we get increases bigger than 5% in the near future.

    1. I completely agree. I’m just kind of surprised that the stock tumbled almost 20% this year. Although that is in Euro’s. I would have to check the real devaluation compared to what the exchange rate did. Still, no great year results yet.
