I bought Ahold Delhaize 2 times earlier. However, I still couldn’t resist buying a few additional shares on the news of the 10% dividend increase. That is 2 straight years with a 10% increase. I love that! Couple that with the big share buy back program, the nice value of Ahold and the future prospects I believe this is a nice long term investment.
I purchased 30 shares of AD for a price of € 18,242 a share. Together with my fees of € 10,00 and my already existing cost basis my new cost basis is € 19,07, down from € 19,219.
This buy adds € 18,90 of forward dividends per year to my portfolio. After taxes that netts me € 16,07 per year in dividends. My forward income excluding taxes for my portfolio is now € 436,40 per year.
What do you think of this purchase? Do you have AD in your portfolio? Do you believe the drop will be temporary or are you afraid that the future of retailers is dark and doomed? Don’t hesitate to comment below!
