Dividend Increase Omega Healthcare Investors

Dividend increase Omega Healthcare Investors

At the 16th of January the board of Omega Healthcare Investors decided to increase the quarterly dividend from $ 0,65 to $ 0,66 per quarter. This means an increase of $ 0,04 per share per year which translates to a 1,54% increase. The dividend is paid on February the 15th 2018 to shareholders of record on January the 31st 2018. This is the 22nd consecutive increase in the quarterly dividend. This is an 6,45% increase compared to the dividend in the same quarter of last year!

The Pursuit

Since I have 39 shares this increase means that my yearly dividend for Omega Healthcare is now $ 102,96, up from $ 101,40 or a $ 1,56 increase in yearly dividends. After taxes I will receive $ 87,52 per year from the company.

This increase means Omega Healthcare currently yields 10,11% and my yield on cost rises to 9,04%.

This is the first dividend increase of 2018 for me! OHI usually raises its dividend 4 times a year. Let’s see if they continue that trend in 2018. I’m happy with another increase!

There is a lot of discussion about the future of OHI lately. However, what is not discussed is the dividend. Another quarterly raise of 0,01 like clockwork. Nobody knows the future of the SNF industry in the US, but I’m in the camp that expects positive returns in the long run due to the aging population. That, combined with good management at OHI makes me bullish on the company. Only time will tell if that is correct though. In the meanwhile I’m collecting over 9% YOC so I can’t complain. This is my 5th quarterly increase from the company already and the 22nd consecutive quarterly increase! Predictable, a great growth rate and a great dividend!

    1. Nice! I like Omega a lot. I know there is doubt about the Medicare and Medicaid rules in the US, but I just can’t believe it will be a long term draw dawn. For now, the dividend is going strong. 🙂
