Recently I talked about my latest buy of Ahold Delhaize stock. Since then the stock had a big correction which was caused by Amazon taking over Whole Foods. This caused most food retailers to correct. In the case of Ahold Delhaize it was somewhere between 10 and 15%.
Since I don’t see the takeover by Amazon as negative as most investors do and since I actually believe Ahold Delhaize won’t be influenced a lot I decided to take my chance and increase my stock count in the company from 80 to 100.
I purchased 20 shares of ADI for a price of € 17,355 a share. Together with my fees of € 10,00 and my already existing cost basis my new cost basis is € 19,219, down from € 19,56.
This buy adds € 11,40 of forward dividends per year to my portfolio. After taxes that netts me € 9,69 per year in dividends. My forward income excluding taxes for my portfolio is now € 420,34 per year.
What do you think of this purchase? Do you have AD in your portfolio? Do you believe the drop will be temporary or are you afraid that the future of retailers is dark and doomed? Don’t hesitate to comment below!
