Dividend income of May

Another month has passed, another month is coming. It’s time again for our favourite time of the month, dividend income! It has been a couple of weeks since I posed anything. It’s such beautiful weather over here that I just have to enjoy it, so not much time for investing at the moment. Activity will stay low for the coming weeks due to our holiday. However, I can’t miss a dividend income report, can I? Well, here it is, the brand new report of May!

Dividend income of May

After a rocket fast start of the year with great increases in the first 3 months of the year I had a little a disappointing month of April. Also because my yearly paying stock decided to pay in another month, but without that I also didn’t had much extra in the form of dividend payments. Well, I’m happy to announce that May will be a much better month compared to last year! Oh boy, that’s an understatement. I absolutely crushed my monthly best ever!

During the month of May I got paid by no less than 5 companies! Together those companies payed me € 73,83 in net dividends after taxes and using the current conversion rates.

Company name Ticker Dividend
Royal Bank of Canada RY € 4,39
Abbott ABT € 4,83
Muenchener Rueckver AG MUV2 €37,99
Omega Healthcare Investors Inc. OHI €19,11
Proctor & Gamble PG € 7,51
Total € 73,83

My dividend income for May 2016 was € 16,10 which results in a 358,6% increase compared to last year! That is truly amazing! However, as noted in my April report MUV2 paid in April last year and changed to May for this year. When I deduct the income of MUV2, then this results in a total income of € 35,84. Much less, but still a growth percentage of 122,6%! So no matter how you look at it, it’s a great month!

Dividend increases

Great news on this front! I received a dividend increase from 3 companies. First of all, of course Muenchener Rueckver AG increased it’s dividend. They pay once a year, so it should increase with every dividend payment. Further, Omega Healthcare Investors increased the dividend. They also tend to increase the dividend with each payment, but then 4 times a year. Last, but not least Proctor & Gamble increased the dividend.

Contributions and purchases

I didn’t add anything to my fund this month.

I purchased 80 shares of Ahold Delhaize this month. It took me a long time to make another purchase, but finally it’s there. And even an European stock to increase my percentage of European stocks in my portfolio. I’m happy with the buy!

Conclusion

May was a great month for my fund. Multiple dividend increases, a great year over year growth and a new buy. I made multiple steps on my way to a passive income stream, so I’m very happy with the results in this month. I still believe the market is way to expensive, so I’m waiting for a general pull back or maybe even a market crash, but until that time we will see how I can manage my portfolio. As long as the dividend keeps growing and I buy at the right valuations, then I’m happy!

How was your month? Are you happy with your dividend income? Have you made any new buys or did you receive dividend increases?
