Dividend Income of February

It’s that time of the month again. That time many look forward to. It’s time to write about dividend income! February has passed and certainly not unnoticed. In January I realized a great growth in dividend income compared to January of last year and it seems that I can continue this into February. I love it when I see my dividend income growing. I know I’m still only beginning to realize a passive income stream and in absolute numbers its small, but when I look at the growth percentage I know this is going to lead somewhere.

Well, let’s have a look at the results of this month!

Dividend income of February

January was a great month and February even beats January although it’s only by a little. I have some great companies paying me this month. OHI pays me for the first time of, hopefully, many times in the future. The great dividend yield certainly helps a lot! Check it out in the table below.

Company name Ticker Dividend
Omega Healthcare Investors OHI € 19,11
Proctor & Gamble PG € 7,41
Royal Bank of Canada RY € 4,51
Abbott Laboratories ABT € 4,86
Total € 35,89

My dividend income for February 2016 was € 10,83 which results in a 231,4% increase compared to last year! It’s an even bigger increase as in January. I know, in the first years it’s much easier to reach high percentages then later in the journey, but still, I need the high percentages to grow and I really like them. I realized almost 3 times as much as in the same month in 2016!

Dividend increases

This month Omega Healthcare Investors increased the dividend with 0,01 per quarter from $ 0,61 to $ 0,62 per quarter. An 8,77% increase compared to the same quarter a year ago. Dividend investing at work!

Contributions and purchases

I added € 400,00 to my fund at the end of February. This way I am building my cash position which is now around € 2.161,00. I really would like to put the money to use, but I don’t know where yet. I am analyzing companies like Canadian National Railway and more companies will follow. I trust this helps me to find the right stock for my portfolio. But it takes time and I need patience. It is an expensive market as we all know.

I purchased nothing this month.

Conclusion

February was a great month again! I really like the growth compared to last year. Omega Healthcare increased its dividend this month. Besides them, Wal-Mart and Royal Bank of Canada announced increases for the next payments. It’s just great when good companies decide to pay me more for owning a part of the company. I just wish my boss had the same thoughts when I’m working at the office!

How was your month? Are you happy with your dividend income? Have you made any new buys or did you receive dividend increases?

Don’t hesitate to leave a comment!

  2. Great stuff Pursuit. That is an amazing year over year growth rate. Even better is the percent are the dividend increase you received from other holdings. Keep up the great work!
