Dividend increase Emerson
Today the board of Emerson decided to increase the quarterly dividend from $ 0,475 to $ 0,48 per quarter. This means an increase of $ 0,02 per share per year which translates to a 1,1% increase. The dividend is paid on december the 9th 2016 to shareholders of record on November the 11th 2016. This is the 59th consecutive anual increase.
Since I have 24 shares this increase means that my yearly dividend for Emerson is now $ 46,08, up from $ 45,60 or a $ 0,48 increase in yearly dividends. After taxes I will receive $ 39,17 per year from the company.
This increase means Emerson currently yields 3,77% and my yield on cost rises to 4,18%.
The increase is small, but I already expected a similar increase to the one from last year. Emerson has a lot of headwinds at the moment. Mainly from outside the company, but the company also has challenges within the company. Still I have a positive outlook for the long term. I expect the company to go back to bigger increases in 1 or 2 years from now. Nonetheless, this is good for the company and so I’m happy with this increase!
